Changhyeon Kim wins ISHS Young Minds Award

Changhyeon Kim won the ISHS Young Minds Award at the 2021 LightSym symposium organized by the International Society for Horticultural Science. The award goes to the winner of the graduate student poster competition. Changhyeon’s poster, part of his PhD research, focused on the effects of anthocyanins on photosynthetic light use efficiency. Anthocyanins are non-photosynthetic pigments that compete with photosynthetic pigments for light. Changhyeon showed that anthocyanins can greatly reduce photosynthesis and photosynthetic efficiency, a topic that is overlooked in the scientific literature. Congrats to Changhyeon!
