The University of Georgia Chapter (Tau) of the horticultural honor society Pi Alpha Xi awarded honorary membership to Dr. Marc van Iersel at their 2016 banquet for new members. The horticulture undergraduate members of Tau chapter awarded this honor to Marc, because of his long involvement in horticultural science and education.
The mission of Pi Alpha Xi is to ‘foster good fellowship among students, educators and professional horticulturists. The society mission is to promote high scholarship, fellowship, professional leadership and the enrichment of human life through plants’. Go Tau!
